Before we begin with pregnancy, we should know about our menstrual cycle pattern and its role in getting pregnant and reproduction.
Every women must know about her cycle pattern,because each differs from others. so the study gives only a gross idea to know about the basics.Here we are not going to discuss in detail about the menstrual cycle, but just some basic hints..
- Menstrual cycle is a scientific term and is nothing but some changes occurs internally and externally in a women's body, which means structural changes in the body parts by physically and hormonal functional changes by internally.
- This changes usually occurs in adolescence period i.e 12-16 yrs. It also depends on heredity.
- The first menstruation (bleeding) is known as Menarche.
- The average length of a single cycle is 28 days but it may differs from person to person and also it depends upon the hormones production and its changes in the body
- This cycle is mainly classified in to 3 phases, the Follicular phase,the Ovulatory phase and the Luteal phase.
- Again the follicular phase is sub-divided in to 2 phases, the Menstrual phase and Proliferative phase.
- Considering a 28 days cycle, the menstrual phase start from day 1 and ends in day 4 in average, the proliferative phase last up to 5 to 13 days in average.
- The ovulatory phase start from day 14 ends on day 18 in average.
- The luteal phase last up to 18 to 28 days in average.

Again it depends on the ovulation time, It may varies form person to person, and its not for sure so mistakes can also occurs. The best way is to get a suggestion from an obstetrician.

In the ovulatory phase, i.e from 5 days before ovulation to 5 days after ovulation,or the second and third week of the cycle.

Usually the cycle varies in each women. some may have a single cycle even upto 35 to 40 days. If they are regular in that cycle period then there wont be any health issue..

- The menstrual flow may last upto 5 to 7 days
- After 10 to 14 days from the start of menstruation, a white fluid discharge occurs as like as menstrual flow.The flow varies form light to heavy,if it is more heavy then its better to see a Gynaecologist.
- It may last up to 3-4 days or even upto a week.
- When the whitish discharge stops the next menstruation may begin with in 10 to15 days.
- Check your single cycle then you can judge your own cycle period.
- Every women should know her menstrual cycle, it not only helps to know about pregnancy but also.helps to find some gynaecological problems
